Event Information

Title: Optical Fiber to the Processor

Description:

Optical interconnects have steadily been moving closer and closer to providing chip-to-chip communication. The advantages over conventional electronic channels include potential terabit-per-second data rates consuming just fractions of a picojoule for each bit sent. In this session, leaders developing and evaluating these solutions will describe their approaches to this challenge, which will have to be surmounted to exploit the full capabilities of future ultrafast processors.
