Event Information

Title: New Directions in Memory Technology

Description: Recent breakthroughs in memory technology are turbocharging embedded, enterprise, and data-center applications, while bringing computing closer to storage. One major development is the increasing use of non-volatile memories such as magnetic random-access memory (MRAM) and resistive random-access memory (RRAM) in embedded systems, especially for AI. Meanwhile, memory technologies based on the Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) bus are showing great promise. Two of the most promising are the Compute Express Link, which will be used for memory expansion and memory pooling, and Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express, for connecting chiplets, including memory chiplets.
