Title: 224G Connector Solution

Description:

In this presentation, a 40dB end-to-end 224Gbps-PAM4 channel is presented using 1m passive cable for high-speed and high- density networking system. The solution is implemented using Intel's 224G chip solution. Two types of connectors are under consideration: OSFP224G Surface Mount Connector (SMT) and OSFP224G OverPass™ solution. The TP0- TP5 channel is evaluated using COM analysis. Different channels are estimated and parameterized to address the pass/fail limits for both SMT and OverPass™. Amphenol SMT connector and cable solutions overcome some of the system design challenges to gain more margins and enable a 1m passive cable as feasible solution using 224G-PAM4 signaling. Amphenol OverPass™ solution provides more margin and design freedom for 224G-PAM4 channels.
